Nish Wadada is a capeverdean descendent singer and songwriter who was born and raised in Rotterdam, Holland. Coming from an ambient of zouk music where she sang for 15 years, she entered the world of reggae in 2004 as a backing vocalist of a reggae band called ‘Delidel Touch’. 3 years later, she left Europe in search of her roots. So she moved to her mother and fatherland, the islands of Cape Verde in the west coast of Mama Africa in 2007.
She continued interested in reggae music while discovering her essence of being an African Empress and what it is to live in the motherland. Later on Nish entered a reggae band in 2011 called Kolabeat and soon after she went from loving reggae to living it. In September 2012, with the encouragement of Taking Over Productions, Delmighty Sounds Studio and producer Jah Version in Portugal, she started a project ready to enter the European Roots Reggae and sound System scene.
During her 2013 summer tour she performed at Musa Festival alongside Jah Version (Portugal)...Garance Reggae Festival (France) along with Salomon Heritage Sound System (Montpellier) & Channel One Sound System (UK)...Dub Station Vitrolles (France) alongside King Shiloh (Holland)...she also did a great performance at Rototom's Dub station with Jah Version...
At the moment she is also recording a roots reggae album with the producers of Microkosmo-Music in Paris, which is due to come out later in 2014. Nish is also involved in a Reggae / Jazz project due to come out in the same year with portuguese jazz mucisians from A'Mar Studio in Portugal lead by Afonso Castanheira. At the moment she's working on a Reggae/ Acoustic project with producer Bruno Cruxxx & Artistas di Rubera also resident in Portugal and is one of the lead singers of 'KolaBeat', a reggae band from Cape Verde...So stay connected for her next releases including hits ‘Empress Menen’...
